Nature Walk

The farmhouse sits in the midst of 200 acres of farmland. Much of this land is woods with many trails used by horses and deer. Guests are welcome to wander through the woods to watch for birds or other wildlife, but please, get directions from Jean or Sara first!

In addition to the wooded trails proximate to the house, the 3.5 mile "Lincoln Loop" is a self-guided interpretive dirt-road tour of some of Loudoun’s most endearing and endangered treasures — including interesting and historic old homes, ruins, the landmark Goose Creek Friends Meeting House, the Old Manassas Rail Road bed, and a Civil War battle site.

Pond / Fishing

Named "Loch Leighton" (after Jean's father, Leighton Smith), the pond is across the road and open to guests who would like to bring their fishing pole. The pond is stocked with small bass and we don't know what else, but you're welcome to try your luck. Please, catch and release only — Jean is unwilling to scale and gut fish!
