Around the Farm
The Oakland Green Property
Built in 1740 by Quaker farmer Richard Brown, the sprawling farmhouse is still in the same family. Nine generations have lived at Oakland Green, which remains a small working farm. Located in the Goose Creek Rural Historic District, the main house is surrounded by century-old evergreens and a meandering perennial garden.

We have 20 head of Angus cattle, two horses, two dogs, several cats, and assorted wildlife. Because the farm is on a narrow dirt road, there is little traffic to disturb your early morning or late evening walks through the 200 acres of woods and pastures A small refrigerator and microwave are in the log house suite, should you decide to bring your own evening meal or snacks. There are several picnic tables around the garden area and at the swimming pool.
